Features:
If you type bo (and then some words) in your input line you will get a reply from Bo, our out of work Rogerian therapist chatbot.
Open up your feelings and be amazed! If you type bo joke he will tell you a one-liner.
In the Menu settings you are able to nominate the nick or name of someone you want to wait for.
When they enter FlatChat can alert you by speaking and/or popping to the front window.
You can also set name colors, buffer size in the Menu.

Information:
This is an experimental chordic chat client. It uses the SPACE J K L ; keys for chording (unless you have changed them).
You can type normally (meaning carefully, too frantic and you may trigger chords) and use it like regular chat, but by chording you have access to over 180 words, phrases and functions, you can also define your own SpeedWords.
It uses little bandwidth, if you leave it idling in the background it will alert you when someone has entered the chat. If you have problems try "flushing your cache" and reloading.
Change the keyboard settings, do a short tutorial.

Usage notes:
You can type just like normal in the text input box and then press Send.
The Edit panel at the top right is (de)activated by the thumb and middle finger |.|.. this is the Space and K keys (default keys are Space J K L ; ).
The blue text navigation buttons in the edit panel are proportional, so |< would be your thumb and first finger ||...
Try clicking on the chat input if the keyboard doesn't work. The Setup switches (from Menu) are US style, up = off.
Remember chord buttons only work when you release your fingers.

Known bugs/problems:
If FlatChat doesn't have keyboard input focus (click on it to give it focus) hitting the Backspace key will take the browser back to the previous HTML page.
Pressing the Escape ESC key will halt the Shockwave, right click on the demo to restart.
If Netscape users don't "logof" before leaving the page, they won't appear as having left the chat.
To use the Popup wait-for-name alert feature Navigator 3+ or MS Explorer 4+ is required.
