A data-entry application
In this example a diver is entering information
into a database, a data field typelet is open
and waiting for the next selection. Each option corresponds to one or
more fingers (thumb at the left) on a 5 button handheld controller (Kord®
Pad). By pressing the thumb and first finger, for example, they
can activate "Shell" as their next entry, similarly "Clear"
would be all but the thumb, and "Mud" just the thumb.
These are examples of some Kord®
IT components, similar in function
to their mouseable counterparts, they can all be operated
with finger chord presses. The large vertical group of buttons
(thumb at the bottom) is a scaling menu,
it increases in size when selected. The size increase makes it highly
visible in difficult environments.
This is an example of static Kord®
IT display, the chord presses printed
on the side of the keyring remote control allow it to have many functions.
The user can press each displayed chord press on the three buttons around
the edge of the device. The chord display uses a 3
digit symbology where \|/ means press all three buttons, similarly
\.. means press the left button. By pressing two chord presses one after
the other the three buttons can deliver a total
of 49 operations. By printing the chord symbols on detachable
sheets it would be possible to easily change any of the units functions.
