Overview |
Background
WetPC P/Lhas a world-wide exclusive licence
from the Australian Institute of Marine Science
(AIMS) to commercialise the Kord®
Interface Technology which includes a highly
innovative and unique chordic graphical
user interface (CGUI)
- originally developed for the the WetPC®
underwater computer. The CGUI has a wide range
of potential applications such as: handheld devices (e.g. mobile
/ cell phones, palm computers, PDAs), wearable computers, handicapped,
games, defence (e.g. soldier combat systems), telematics, Asian character
input devices, and remote controllers.
Products
WetPC P/L produces a range of products
including hand controllers (e.g. Kord®
Pad, Kord®
Grip, Kord®
Board), Kord®
Software (e.g. Kord®
Software Development Kit), and documentation (e.g. Kord®
Standards; experimental data and algorithms). WetPC P/L also provides
a range of services to assist users including:
development of customised Kord®
Software applications and concept demonstrator
interfaces; provision of training courses and technical advice;
and the design of CGUIs.
WetPC P/L seeks to generate products which can be incorporated by other companies in either existing or new technologies for mobile computing and communications applications world-wide. As such, it seeks to be a provider of enabling technologies which will give other companies a strong competitive edge in the global marketplace.
Business Interactions
WetPC P/L has developed strong links
with a number of Australian companies
which design and manufacture high technology
products for use in underwater and mobile applications. Recently,
WetPC P/L signed a sub-licence
with another Australian company Nautronix Ltd (based in Fremantle, Western
Australia) which has been given the rights to commercialise Kord®
IT for all underwater applications. Currently, Nautronix Ltd and
WetPC P/L are working together
to produce underwater computers for defence and research markets.
WetPC P/L has successfully completed projects for the following clients: the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army, Australian Special Forces, Nautronix Ltd, Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO), and the Royal Netherlands Army.
WetPC P/L is actively seeking industry partners who are interested in either licensing its technologies for use in their products or establishing some form of business collaboration.
